Jeep grand cherokee sounds like the engine is knocking

Jeep-Grand-Cherokee-Concept

My 2000 jeep grand cherokee sounds like the engine is knocking, there is no oil presure, and it will not stay running. What do I do?

Answer:
If you have this many problems with this engine I would suggest getting a used engine with low miles and a warranty you can get one for less than a 1,000 and installed for around 500-600 dollars. Once they begin knocking I don't repair them because you don't know about contamination in the engine from metal. And it's very costly to have an engine rebuilt. Especially with no oil pressure it's probably spun a bearing in the lower end of the engine.

DUNE Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 499HP Premieres In Essen

jeep-grand-cherokee-srt8.jpg

The maroon matt-finished Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 by “Delta4x4” that made its global debut at the Essen Motor Show features a series of mechanical and cosmetic upgrades. The standard 425 HP 6.1-litre V8 HEMI engine has been enhanced to 499 HP thanks to the new engine control unit, the sport exhaust system with performance manifold and the modified air-feed. Delta says that the 499 HP DUNE project accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mpg) in less than 5 seconds.
Delta4x4 has also fiddled around with the suspension (+100 mm ground clearance) and the tires as the DUNE sits on new custom light wheel elements IV with 11x23in mounted Continental Cross Contact tires in 305/40 R23. Finally, integrated into the new front spoiler is a Warn winch while the stainless steel roof-rack system and the fender extension contain filigree PIAA main-beam headlights that promise to turn night into day.

Jeep Liberty Limited works like a truck

Jeep_Liberty_thumb

Texas Truck Mama smiled as she pulled into the driveway in her little Mini Cooper. Parked in front of her was a considerably different vehicle, a 2008 Jeep Liberty Limited sport-utility vehicle. It was about two feet longer than her Mini Cooper, several inches taller and nearly 900 pounds heavier.

The four-wheel-drive Jeep Liberty, of course, had a bigger engine -- a 3.7-liter, 210-horsepower V-6, compared with the 1.6-liter, 118-horsepower in-line four-cylinder engine in her front-wheel-drive Mini.

The Jeep Liberty, wearing all-new sheet metal for 2008, looking rugged the way a Jeep should look, barely got 21 miles per gallon on the highway, drinking regular unleaded gasoline. Texas Truck Mama's Mini got 36 mpg on the highway. And with her behind the wheel, driving like the mild-mannered elementary school teacher she is, squeezing 37 or 38 mpg out of her Mini was not uncommon, although she frequently complained about the Mini's requirement for premium unleaded fuel.
